Cap Barbell Neoprene Dumbbell Set with Rack Review

I purchased my Cap Barbell neoprene dumbbell 3#/5#/8# set from another online fitness store about 6 months ago. This set is a great starter set for toning and weight training at home.

These are good quality dumbbells (comparable to Troy brand) and are colored red, aqua and purple. Neoprene dumbbells are less damaging on flooring, don't smell bad, and (because of their hex shape) don't roll away. They are also easier to grip and more gentle on your hands (especially if you prefer to weight train without gloves).

I use these dumbbells almost daily and really like them.

Cap Barbell High Hex Bar (2-Inch) Review

This trap bar takes Olympic-sized plates, and weighs in at pretty close to 45 lbs. Getting it unwrapped from the three pounds of plastic wrap that it was cocooned in for its trip across the Pacific ocean was a minor workout.Overall weld quality and finish appears fine and is in line for what you would expect in this price range.The dimensions and handle spacing are comfortable for me (I'm 6'1").

Hand Grippers 150 and 200 lb Hand grips grip Review

i really wanted to find a package of 3 or 4 on a good deal, but one that i'd use all. i had no clue how would those numbers/pounds apply to me, so i went ahead and ordered this one, even that it wasn't a big package deal.

and i hit the jackpot.

150 - perfect warm up for me - i can close it 20-25 times to "click" of the handles.

200 - at first i could do 1 or 2 closes to "click", now a week later i can do 8 closes to "click".

that 50lb difference actually feels double.

a couple of months from now i'd like to have a 250-pounder as well.

i have small hands and i'm not muscular, but i'm good at arm-wrestling, so i consider myself average. from the 4 friends i let them try the 200 though only one could click it once. hope this gives you some idea what would be best for you.

BodyCraft Xpress Pro Leg Press Attachment Review

I bought the Bodycraft Xpress Pro...a wonderful piece of equipment. The pulley cable arms are ingenious! I also bought the leg press attachment.It too is top quality.But for $550-600, the leg press (and calf extension) is fairly ineffective at developing your lower body...e.g., quads and gluts...especially if you're used to doing squats.You also don't work your lower back.The press essentially isolates your quads...which will BURN...but not really develop them attractively like squats can. You also miss out on working your 'core'. So...save your money and find another way to do work your legs/core.I do them with the seated row station (per their exercise chart)...which works OK, but not as good as free weight squats.

BodyCraft Galena Pro Home Gym Review

I have had a Galena model including the leg press add-on since 2004.It's a very solid, well-made gym.I'm 6'3" and have not had any trouble doing any of the exercises. If you're much taller than 6'3" you may find the leg extension less than satisfactory. (It just barely works for me.)All parts move with ease and without noise except for the customary clank the moment the weight stack comes back to rest after an exercise.It came with all the straps and widgets needed to do the full range of exercises.So, no other expense, other than a book I purchased to help me see other ways to use a weight machine. (The manual and exercise poster that came with my Galena didn't describe all of the various exercises that can be done with it and there's a LOT more that can be done than what they tell you. Perhaps since 2004 they've added a little more documentation?) It fits nicely into a corner of the room and looks like it belongs in a commercial gym.For the money I didn't find anything else close to this quality back in 2004. I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Body Solid GCAB360 CAM Series Ab / Back Machine Review

Overall the experience was good. The Ab/Back Machine arrived within the shipping date window. Shipping was free, that was nice & Amazon's price was better then direct purchase from the company.Set up procedure could be challenging for some as a parts list and exploded view of how the parts were assembled was all that was provided. I'm mechanically inclined & did not have any problems & machine was set up in about 3 hours. I would have liked an operator's manual as I'm sure there are features that I have yet to master. Both myself and my 16 yr old son like the machine and use it serveal times a week. I also have a Body Solid leg press machine which I have owned for 15 years. Both the ab and the leg machine are good values.

This is a small bench and low to the ground. I am 5'10" 170lb and my son is 6'2" 222lb and we both use it easily, so the smallness is an asset for our limited area but the size does not limit any exercises.We use dumbbells a lot and this bench is perfect for those exercises.Easily adjusts in seconds and is sturdily built.We already have a bench that is attached to our weight machine and I thought this new bench would get limited use but its portability/movability and its ease of adjustment have made it our main bench.We also put the back at a high angle and use it for dumbbell preacher curls.Extremely happy we got it!
