This scope is awesome. I was bore sighting it at dusk and was aiming at the top of a fence post about 100 yards away. It was getting hard to see it with my eyes because of light was low, but the scope seemed to double the amount of available light. My dad is a hard core Leopold guy, but after seeing this, he thinks this is the best scope he has ever seen. I would have to agree.
Now the bad news, I found this scope on Ebay for much cheaper than what Amazon was offering. I had some Amazon gift certificates I had to use so I opted to pay more, but if you are looking into this scope, check ebay first as it has much better pricing. (Unless you can get the Amazon vendor to match an Ebay price).

Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 RiflescopeProduct Description: Among the brightest in its class, the Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 riflescope has a proven track record of reliability, durability, and precision, making it a true hunter's workhorse. The scope is at home on any hunting rifle, muzzle loader, or even rimfire, with such features as a rugged 1-inch main body tube; Nikon's Brightvue multi-coating lens system for up to 92 percent light transmission; your choice of a mil-dot, bullet drop compensating (BDC), or Nikoplex reticle; and ultra-high-performance lenses. The precise mil-dot reticle is designed for extremely accurate targeting, while the BDC reticle provides fast, simple aiming points for various shot distances. The Nikoplex reticle, meanwhile, is a favorite of American sportsmen, with thicker posts on the top, bottom, and sides and thinner center crosshairs for precision aiming under all light conditions.
The scope's high-performance lenses are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflective compounds. The compounds serve to boost light transmission, improve contrast (to pull game out of its surroundings), deliver true color rendition and flare-free viewing, and enhance the overall image quality. And the Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 is ready for years of reliable service thanks to its 100 percent waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof housing. Other details include audible hand-turn 1/4 MOA click windage and elevation adjustments; a Nikon Fog Eliminator wipe that helps eliminate exterior fogging in even the most extreme conditions; sunshade adaptability; and a Nikon lifetime warranty.

I completely liked this product. I used it on my Spyder MR1, it had just the right fit on it so I didn't have to buy a rail mount, although the elevation adjustment cap is right above the pull pin cocking knob(there is a cm or smaller of room between the two). Installation was very quick and easy. The LED light is easy to see (and all lighting environments), doesn't strain the eyes, and very durable hard plastic. I bought this item for 10.99 at [...]. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a red dot.
