I bought this for my girlfriend for when she jogs for protection from people and animals.

It is very light and fits well in your hand.I purchased this one over some of its competitors because of the safety cap and the brand name. It costs a little more, but I believe it is worth it.

Ok here is how OC sprays are measured in pungency. There is Oleoresin Capsicum Concentration which is 10% In this spray. The OC concentration is only the measurement of the amount of oil in the spray and has nothing to do with the effectiveness. SHUS are also another outdated method of pungency and SHUS only measure the strength of the raw pepper before it is mixed with the carriers and propellants. Capsaicinoids are the activeingredients within the OC or Oil that cause the inflammation and incapacitation. So this spray is 10% OC (oil of pepper) with 1.4% Major Capsaicinoids and that is extremely hot. Capsaicinoids are the only accurate indicator of pepper spray strength period. So you picked a very hot spray and most OC sprays are 0.18% Capsaicinoids to 0.67%. This brand is very hot! I use Sabre Red which is 10% Oleoresin Capsicum, 2,000,000 SHUS with 1.33% Capsaicinoids.

I bought this spray for protection against dogs while I jog.I really liked the velcro-elastic cover.It's awesome since it keeps the sprayer all lined up for use without having to hold onto it.I recently decided to test the sprayer.I am really glad that I did this at home and as a test.The pepper solution just ran out all over my hand.There was no 'spray' at all.I was suprised it did not burn my skin.Luckily my husband was home to turn the hose on for me so I didn't get it everywhere.

No matter what kind you get, make sure you test it!If you really need it, it HAS to work.
