OD VINTAGE STAR BACKPACK Review

This backpack has an interesting and unique look to it, however the design leaves much to be desired.

The bag does not store items well and things will have a tendency to fall out or move around in the bag, especially when set down. The straps holding the main (and really only) compartment shut are a pain to work with and take too much time to open or close. The shoulder strapsare difficult to adjust and they would not go short enough fit snugly.

Overall I am very disappointed in this bag and would not buy again.

Nalgene Get-A-Grip CXC Bladder Review

I just got back from trekking to Machu Picchu in Peru, a 4 day trek require a lot of water in take and this thing was perfect. It's very easy to fill - the cap can't fall off as it has a coil attaching it to the rim, the hose is detachable - great for feeding the piping through your bag's holes without having to remove or empty the bladder, there's a magnetic clip that attaches to a standard strap that fixes the mouthpiece on and it has an on-off function. To those who have complained about the magnetic clip they must've not attacehd it properly as mine was fixed on very tightly and those that complain that it leaks if you leave it "on" then they should've rememebered to turn it off. As the bladder is in your back pack the water stays cold too!Out of all the money I had to spend and kit I had to buy to take on this trip this was by far the best. I really recommend it.

NALGENE Tritan Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle Review

I've been using this a few weeks so far, and it seems very sturdy.I attach it to my bag with a carabiner and have seen no signs of breakage while hiking with the bottle.I love that the bottle doesn't leak, and it's a BPA-free product (good for me, good for the environment).Plus, I have not noticed any unusual smell/taste while drinking from the bottle (unlike most reusable plastic bottles), but I have not tried hot beverages in it yet.The wide-mouth IS very convenient for ice cubes and cleaning.Highly recommended!

Nalgene Stainless Steel Water Bottle Review

This waterbottle is build like a tank!Dont worry about denting this bottle or breaking the cap.I own a Klean Kanteen and this waterbottle is good, but has dented a little too easily.We go backpacking fairly often and it would suffice as an alternative vessel for boiling water in or cooking a meal in. The lid is cinched on the bottle with a cord and is secure, but comes off easily if needed. Great bottle for ultra-lighters who could use this for a few different purposes.

The only two drawbacks that I have seen are sort of related. When I initially got this water bottle, there was a lot of metal dust still on the inside of the container. Had thrown it in the dish washer but I actually had to do some scrubbing to get this off.

The second problem I ran into was when I have washed it in the dish washer.The upper rim of the bottle where it curves to meet the mouth actually holds water on the inside.I couldn't figure out why my bottle smelled like the dishwasher for about a month. One day after I took it out of the dishwasher I noticed water dripping from the inside of the bottle when I moved it.I stuck my finger up inside and sure enough there was water pooled around this rim with little particles of food there.

The extra care for the cleaning doesn't make this a bad bottle, just thought that this would have been somethign that engineers would have picked up on the design.Just use a towel and dry this after it is has been in the dish washer.

Overall, I like this bottle and know that it will last for many years to come.

It works with standard Nalgene lids, mouth inserts, and MSR water filtration systems that screw onto Nalgene bottles.

McNett ReviveX Spray-On, 10oz, Review

Does exactly what it says it does.I used it to revitalize the waterproofing on my non Goretex Sailing Foul Weather Jacket and Bibs and Gloves.Washed and rinsed (twice) the gear, sprayed on the bottle and stuck them in the dryer as instructed.I was probably a bit more generous with my application as I used the whole bottle on the 3 items.Regardless, when I pulled the garments out of the dryer, I put them under a running faucet and the water beaded off with none of it soaking into the fabric.

Much cheaper alternative to buying $600+ of replacement gear.Let's see how it holds up to a rainy day of sailboat racing...

I ordered the 16 oz bottles and the lids are separate rather then have the loop that goes back and connects to the bottle.So the product I received wasn't as shown in the picture.
