I actually bought this to use when training my horse (to keep treats in, a catch-rope, etc.). It's small - which I wanted. However, I'm currently not a distance runner (I used to be, though!), and my waist has grown to 40 inches. The manufacturers appear to have assumed there are no chubby distance runners; the strap will go about 36" max. My bad.
