For the price, this is one of the clearest scopes I have usedso far. The finish matched my Knight Muzzle Loader perfect.If it works out in the field as well as it does at the range, I will be getting another for my other Rifle.

The first muzzle-loading riflescope to offer a bullet drop compensating (BDC) reticle, the Nikon Omega 3-9x40 lets hunters realize the full potential of their muzzle loaders. The scope is designed for .50-caliber muzzle loaders using a 150-grain Pyrodex charge (pellets or powder) and a 250-grain bullet. Once installed, the scope lets the hunter shoot accurately and effectively out to 250 yards, taking the guesswork out of where to hold on longer shots. Overall, it offers the type of accuracy that's typically available only from center-file rifles. The BDC-250 is actually a trajectory-compensating reticle designed and calibrated to provide fast, simple aiming points for various shot distances. The unique system integrates a series of small "ballistic circles"--each subtending 2 inches at 100 yards--allowing an unobstructed view of the target. At 200 yards, the circles are 4 inches, and at 250 yards, they're 5 inches.
The scope also offers high-performance lenses coated with multiple layers of anti-reflective compounds. The compounds serve to boost light transmission (up to 92 percent), improve contrast (to pull game out of its surroundings), deliver true color rendition and flare-free viewing, and enhance the overall image quality. And the Omega 3-9x40 is ready for years of reliable service thanks to its 100 percent waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof housing. Other details include 1/4-minute click hand-turn reticle adjustments, a constant 5-inch eye relief that protects against magnum-charge recoil, and a Nikon lifetime warranty.
