This would be an excellent craft magnifier. I don't need to use the light on it but might be nice if you needed the extra detail light. I have it mounted to the far right of my elbow at my computer desk. It functions like I hoped it would. When I need to read some real fine print that is too fine for my glasses I can pull this thing down and over the item and read can it and type on my computer at the same time. It works like you would expect and I am totally satisfied with this product. It also easily mounts on the edge of my desk edge and stays secure no matter how I pull it around.
